Nintendo 3DS price rumours

Comments No Comments

Since its announcement at last year’s E3, the Nintendo 3DS is generating mass interest as the next big thing in gaming.

It was without a doubt the highlight of E3 and those that got to see it in the flesh where very impressed with the console technically, with its 3D screen but also with the promise of some great games.

We were lucky to be at the press conference announcement last year and thought the 3D screen was superb, something that has to be seen to be believed.

We’re keeping a close eye on the confirmed launch date and retail price which should be announced officially next week in Amsterdam.

A news post by MCV states that the retail price of the Nintendo 3DS is expected to settle at £200 – £230. This price seems a fair price if the console can deliver on expectations based on hardware and software promises.

As with all new hardware launches, the worry is that the expected high demand may set a retail price higher than most would be happy with, a little like what happened with the Kinect Sensor originally. Kinect before launch was rumoured as a £50 device but ultimately retailed at £130.
