Nintendo DSi launches Friday

The new Nintendo DSi launches this Friday (3rd April 2009) with news that pre-orders are as high as double to that of the Nintendo DS Lite, meaning it’s very likely that the DSi will sell out in the UK.

The console which is launching as we speak in Australia, already launched in Japan, November last year and will launch in the UK and Europe on the 3rd of April, while North America waits until April 5th.

UK retailer Game have confirmed that they will be opening their stores at midnight for those eager to get their hands on the new console.

While the Nintendo DSi is a new product on the market it’s not a brand new gaming platform. It’s basically a Nintendo DS with upgraded features. Key features of the Nintendo DSi are its ability to take photos, play music and most importantly via electronic distribution, download software.

It’s believed the demand for this console is much higher than that of the Nintendo DS Lite, so is expected to sell out in the UK, although we will know more on the success of the launch next week.
