Pre Order Heavy Rain

Heavy Rain is poised to be one of the highest points for the PS3 exclusive scene this year, or will it be a light shower when it breaks cover!.

There could be more than meets the eye to this fully undercover gamenoir!

There is often a lot of friction between gamers, through choice or chance we have those in the Playstation camp and others in the Xbox camp. Very rarely do members of either tribe defect to the other as we seem to have radically different values when it comes to what gaming is.

From the small amount I’ve seen about Heavy Rain, this game could see many Microsoft devotees lose their appetite as this is a truly exciting exclusive for the Sony box. At Eurogamer, the Heavy Rain demo looked to be a more mature approach to video games and a real alternative to just watching a movie.

The flaw with most adventure games is how eventually, with all the choice systems/free roaming missions/customised characters, the game usually ends up at the same ending (see Fallout 3).

With Heavy Rain, you control different characters in different scenarios which are effected by your prior choices, if you get a character killed, then the next scene where maybe he helped with some clues is missing and so the outcome of the game is radically altered.

It has to be said that this game is by far the most annoying exclusive for those of us yet to invest in a shiny new PS3!
