Ever felt your DS or DSi was just too small and easy to fit into your pocket? So did Nintendo who are set to launch the DSi XL in just over a month.

So what does the DSi XL give you over the standard DSi?

Well that will be a bigger screen and hence larger unit.

The screen is 93% bigger at 4.2 inches compared to the DSi’s tiny 3 inch screen. The console comes pre-loaded with ‘A Little Bit of… Dr Kawashima’s Brain Training: Arts Edition’, Dictionary 6 in 1 with Camera Function and the Nintendo DSi Browser, which enables easy access to the Internet using a Wi-Fi connection. It also has all the functionality of a standard DSi.

With your oversized DSi you also get an oversized stylus which looks like an expensive ball point pen.

The DSi XL is mainly aimed at the more mature gamer who may find the standard DSi screen hard to read and the stylus a bit fiddly.

The DSi is available to pre-order now and comes in two colours Red Wine and Dark Brown.
