Pre Order PlayStation Move

Sony finally bring to market PlayStation Move, their attempt to take a slice of Nintendo’s casual gaming pie.
PlayStation Move is in effect very similar to how you control the Wii, though this time the method of control is said to be more accurate because a camera is used to track the motion of the brightly coloured orb that sits on the end of the controller.
Introducing the camera to track motion, as well as gyroscopes and accelerometers means this gadget can get a firm fix on what you’re doing. Most titles coming out will have some support for this, coupled with the Sony’s push for 3D, this could lead to some pretty immersible gaming!
We expect a mass of titles aimed at the casual gaming market but we’re more interested to see how more solid hardcore games will be integrated with PlayStation Move.
One great example we were able to try at E3 was SOCOM 4. This will for sure have traditional controls but we found this to be a refreshing way to play a solid hardcore title. It’s instantly more taxing as there’s lots of buttons to master, as common with most FPS titles compared with casual gaming’s predictable swing and click simplicity.
It was interesting to see a quality next gen title integrated with PlayStation Move. It took a little time to adjust but generally speaking the control was responsive, accurate and a lot of fun to play. If PlayStation Move is able to support a mix of casual and hardcore games it could rise above expectations.
PlayStation Move has a release date of 15th September 2010
