Reach for Halo 3: ODST

Saying Halo 3: ODST was a disappointment could be seen as an understatement. A short, unimaginative campaign with a repackaged multiplayer from Halo 3 all for £40 wasn’t the game Halo fans were looking for, however for some included in that purchase was a promise.

When Halo 3: ODST was announced so was something rather special, something that got the fanboys rather excited – Halo Reach! For those not in the know, Reach is set in 2552, the war with the Covenant has been long fought and nearly all of the interstellar colonies have fallen. Reach is one of the last colonies and you control Noble 6, a member of an elite supersoldier squad. Reach is a prequel to the 2001 game Halo:Combat Evolved which began the entire saga.

The Reach beta goes live on 3rd May 2010 and is only accessible to those who have purchased ODST. If that £40 price tag put you off when the game first launched, there was a price drop over the weekend to an RRP of £25. Don’t forget not only do you get access to a rather good expansion pack for Halo 3, you get the full multiplayer (with all the DLC maps) and access to the Halo Reach beta. At £15 Halo 3: ODST is value for money!
