Review: We Sing – UK Hits
We Sing is back and this time it’s bringing a stash of UK hits!
Since We Sing was first released it has already spawned a few follow ups packed with more music tracks, notably We Sing Encore and Robbie Williams editions.
This is a popular format also seen on similar titles such as Singstar. Once the main game engine has been perfected, it makes sense release further editions based on music artists or genres.
As with We Sing, the game gives you the ability to play solo or where applicable to choose a group of friends to join you in murdering some classic UK hits. You can purchase the game which includes two mics (which connect via USB), or if you have one of the previous games you can buy the game stand-alone. This is the first title in the series that lets you sing away with 4 people at once which is great fun, though if you wish to play with with 3 friends you’ll most likely need to splash out on at least two extra microphones!
We’ve covered the basics of how the game works in our past review for We Sing: Encore. Generally the game is much the same for the basics, in that you’re required to match the high and low notes while singing to your favourite tunes. The more accurate your pitch and timing, the more points you will receive.
For those new to the game, there’s integrated singing lessons which should go some way to fine tuning your ability to play this game.
The real draw to this game is the great selection of UK hits, stemming six decades and including the original videos. While everyone will have different opinions on what the best tunes are, there should be loads to suit most tastes.
Anyone that’s played Guitar Hero or Rock Band, will be aware it doesn’t take long to get through the core songs, then you’re keen to add more, usually in the form of DLC, which sadly isn’t within We Sing: UK Hits. If the price is right on future releases, it may be more common to buy other editions of We Sing, than DLC purchases.
